Pumpkin Spice Pecan Energy Balls

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the cooler weather, the visits to the cider mill, the changing leaves and of course, pumpkin spice! Now is that time of year when you see pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! I’ve been all about pumpkin spice, more so this year than in the past. It screams fall and let’s face it, it tastes amazing! Along with the other amazing things fall brings, it also brings a very busy time of year for our family.

With the older kids back in school and younger two in daycare in the fall, I find myself in the car a lot more. I find myself having to eat on the go with the challenge of staying healthy and energized. To help with my pumpkin spice cravings I whipped up a batch of these pumpkin spice pecan energy balls to eat on the go and let me tell you – they are delicious!

As I mentioned, being busy is something I deal with every day so when I make things I need quick and easy recipes. These energy balls literally took me less than an hour total (30 minutes of that was freezer time!)!

Pumpkin Spice Pecan Energy Balls


I added all of the ingredients to the mixing bowl.


Mix until well blended.


Once mixed I simply made into balls and placed on wax paper. I then put them in the freezer for 30 minutes.

I added in some of Barlean’s Energy Blend, which I’ve also used in smoothies in the past. I love it! It is formulated with traditional energy producing Panax ginseng, along with organic flaxseed, chia seed and coconut, Energy Blend is a nutritional powerhouse of Omega-3 (ALA), antioxidants and fiber. 


Once I removed them from the freezer I placed in a container to refrigerate. They’ll keep in the refrigerator for about a week. These pumpkin spice pecan energy balls are easy to grab and go to make sure mom has the energy needed to get through these busy fall days!

  1. 1 cup oats
  2. 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  3. 1/4 cup peanut butter
  4. 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  5. 2 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
  6. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  7. 2 tbsp Barlean's Energy Blend
  8. 1/4 cup ground pecans
  1. Add all ingredients to the mixing bowl
  2. Mix until well blended
  3. Roll into balls and place on wax paper
  4. Freeze for 30 minutes
  5. Place into covered bowl and refrigerate
