Tropical Fruit Smoothie with a Secret Ingredient

Confession time y’all. I’ve been battling myself when it comes to eating healthy this summer. It’s summer and I have a thing for cool sweet treats in the heat. Ice cream is a favorite but I really need to watch how often I let that happen. I turned forty just a few weeks ago and the weight doesn’t come off as easy as it did in the past. When the most recent challenge from Barleans came about, I knew it was just the thing I needed! Creating a cool, healthy summer treat using one of the products they sent sounded like something I’d love. Did they say “summer treat”?! No problem! Tropical Fruit Smoothie

The kids love smoothies and I find it’s the easiest way to get servings of fruits and veggies not only into them, but into my husband and I. When I created this tropical fruit smoothie earlier this week it was love! It’s super easy to make and full of goodness! It’s that sweet treat I love but without all of the bad stuff!


Tropical Fruit Smoothie Ingredients

1 cup stuffed full of frozen fruit (I used peaches, pineapples, and mango.)
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup orange yogurt
3/4 cup ice
2 tbsp Barleans Omega Swirl Pina Colada

Tropical Fruit Smoothie Step-by-Step


Fill the blender with all ingredients and run on medium-high until smoothie is blended well.


The smoothie will look like this in the blender when it’s perfectly blended.


My secret ingredient is the Omega Swirl from Barleans. It’s great for you and can be taken straight from the spoon and still taste great. It can also be added to smoothies or other favorite foods.


I used honey and unsweeted coconut flakes to garnish the rim of the glass. It made for a pretty summer cool treat!
