LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan Now Open – Our Sneak Peek!

Disclosure: I was provided with a sneak peek of LEGOLAND Discovery Center in exchange for coverage. All opinions are 100% my own and are not influenced in any way.

Thursday we were lucky enough to be among the people that got a sneak peek of the LEGOLAND Discovery Center at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. LA had a half day of school so I was lucky enough to be able to arrange my work schedule where I could pick him up and have a mommy-son date. First stop – the new LEGOLAND Discovery Center!

LEGOLAND Discovery Center MichiganThe ultimate indoor LEGO playground is right! This place is amazing and is a must do if you are in the area or plan to visit! Warning…lots of photos ahead! 😉

Building LegosWhen we first entered we were treated with some information about how LEGOs are made and got the chance to design our own Minifigure. It was super fun and interesting! By the way, did you know that you can bring a Minifigure and trade it while there? The employees’ name badges have Minifigures on them and if you see one you like you can ask them to swap with you! I love this!

Next there was an awesome ride, the Kingdom Quest Laser Ride, with a mission and targets to shoot at throughout the ride. I didn’t get any good pictures of this because I was having too much fun with my little guy shooting the targets. 😉

After the ride we entered a room full of LEGO displays replicating various landmarks in the city of Detroit. This room is AMAZING. I can’t say enough about the talent that went into creating the various displays. I took lots of pictures here because I thought it was that cool! The lighting in the room went from daylight to dark and as “evening” approached the LEGO displays lit up like the city does at night! I loved it!

Detroit Metro AirportThere was even a section that featured Detroit Metro Airport and had some planes made from LEGOs.

Lego Kids at LEGOlandLA had a blast and enjoyed posing with this LEGO kid. 😉 He’s in that silly grinning stage when you tell him to smile! lol

Build and Race at LEGOLANDThe interaction at LEGOLAND is amazing! There are so many things for kids to do! It’s definitely a place that keeps their minds busy but allows them to have so much fun! This section is a Build and Race section where kids can build a car and actually race it against other cars built by other kids! It’s such a cool thing, if only mama could have built a better car for him! lol

LEGOLAND Discovery Center MichiganThere are building opportunities throughout!

LEGOLAND PlayScapeThere’s even a HUGE playscape (this is only half of it!) for the kids to enjoy while the parents take a bit of a break.

Legoland PoseI told him to sit on the bench and he got on the LEGO man’s lap!

LEGOLAND DragonI couldn’t resist this photo opp on our way out of LA standing there staring up at the LEGO dragon!

LEGOLANDThis little guy picked out a small LEGO set at the gift shop at LEGOLAND Discovery Center and when we got home we built it together. He LOVES it and is still playing with it this morning! The gift shop is amazing and is a dream for all LEGO lovers!

The new LEGOLAND Discovery Center is now open in Great Lakes Crossing mall in Auburn Hills, Michigan! Don’t miss it, it’s an amazing place to take the kids! Spring break is here for some of you and will be next week for others – get your tickets now and have a day full of fun at LEGOLAND Discovery Center!

What part of LEGOLAND Discovery Center are you most excited about?
