Tax season is a very busy time of year for me. My degree is in accounting and in past years I’ve worked doing taxes for companies. In recent years I limit it and just do taxes for clients I’ve been working with for several years and/or family and friends. Even with limiting it, I find it takes a lot of my time and this year I’ve pledged to stay organized to reduce my stress levels and to allow more time to brush up on my tax skills. Since I got involved in blogging several years ago its been interesting learning all about blogger tax deductions and what I can do to maximize my personal tax return. Things are always changing in the tax world so I appreciate saving time and learning more!

DYMO Label Writer
Often I will complete taxes online, however, some of the volunteer work I do requires me to do taxes by hand if internet isn’t available or if the client prefers I do it by hand with them. I keep various forms on file and to easily find them I’ve enlisted the help of my DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Value Pack from Staples!

DYMO at Staples I was able to easily label folders for forms and keep them organized for quick access. I find that labeling things in my home office makes work much easier. I am also able to print out reminder appointment cards for friends/family members who do make appointments to get their taxes done. Being this organized makes me WANT to get my work done, no more procrastinating here thanks to the DYMO LabelWriter!

Appointment Cards

This amazing tool allows me to customize and print address, file folder and barcode labels, plus name badges and more right from my PC! (If you have a Mac®, it’s compatible, too!) In fact, it allows me to print crystal-clear barcodes, labels and graphics with 600 x 300 dpi resolution! I’ve definitely found my solution for labeling, filing and mailing needs in my home office. I’m saving time and money without the hassle of printing sheet labels on a desktop printer!

With the help of the DYMO LabelWriter I’ve created a planner that will help other bloggers stay prepared year round!

Supplies you’ll need:

  • 3 Ring Binder
  • Binder File Folder (with four pockets)
  • Binder Tabs
  • DYMO LabelWriter 450
  • LW File Folder Labels
  • LW Shipping Labels
  • Printed Supplies

Blogger Tax DeductionsYour binder tabbed sheets will be the base of your entire planner! You want to pick sections that are important to you. I’ve picked: Monthly Goals, Calendar, Brainstorming, Income and Expenses.

Blogger Labeled BookI printed my labels on my DYMO LabelWriter. I used the file folder labels and just folded the ends over.

Blog Book Labels with DYMO Once your tabs are done you’ll want to find your printables online. Personally, monthly goals for me is something I work on once or twice a month. You can find a great “goals” printable here. I sit down and reevaluate what I am doing and what changes I want to make.  I write the goals down and visit them often to refresh my memory. There are many calendars you can print off as well, you’ll just want to find one that meets your needs. My brainstorming section is a bunch of blank sheets of paper where I can jot down thoughts as they come.

PrintablesAs for income and expenses, I have printables that I created and use regularly. I do also use a spreadsheet, however, I’ve found that being able to quickly write things down before I forget about them is priceless! It’s a quick access form that makes adding things to my spreadsheet later easier!

Dymo_Receipt_LabelsI found this binder file folder at Staples, too. I love that it has four sectioned folders but all in one place. I use it for receipts and sort them by quarters. Having a place to keep receipts is vital to tax time! You don’t want to be stressed looking for receipts from 9-12 months ago…keep them all in one place! Receipt tip: photo copy your receipt and then tape the actual receipt to the back of the copy. If you hold on to receipts for months you’ll know they can become hard to read! At tax time you don’t want to wonder what the amount was and the photocopied receipt will not leave you wondering.

That completes your blogger planner for the year. You’ll stay more organized and be able to keep your thoughts and due dates and numbers all in one place!
