TINKERTOYS – The Perfect Classic Toys for Christmas!

Do you remember playing with TINKERTOY® toys when you were small? TINKERTOY® was created in 1913 after inventor Charles Pajeau observed children playing with pencils and empty spools of thread. They’ve been around for a long time and I know I have loved them since I was a child. If you are looking for the perfect classic toys for Christmas, keep reading!

Holiday Gift Guide 2015As a K’NEX blogger, I was sent their TINKERTOY® 150 piece essentials set for review. These toys are for children three years old and above. My two kids in the age range for these toys are 5 and 3. I love that TINKERTOY® helps develop fine motor skills and problem solving. They love using their imaginations and I love seeing their minds at work! They will sit for some time working together on building towers and other things that mama tries to help with! 😉 We have a blast!

Classic Toys for Christmas

It’s exciting to me to find toys that I played with as a child. I LOVE getting my kids classic toys for Christmas. It brings back a bit of my childhood, it allows me to share special memories with my kids and it keeps them off of their tablets and prevents them from wanting TV time! 😉 It’s a win-win for all! lol

TinkertoysThe 150 “essential” TINKERTOY® pieces include spools, rods, flags, washers, end caps, and more! The box also includes an instruction sheet with building tips! One thing I love about TINKERTOY® pieces is that you can keep adding to the sets! They are all interchangeable with all other sets. The toys are also made in the USA and are very durable! The pieces have no sharp edges whatsoever and are totally safe for young kids/toddlers over the age of three. My five year old loves solving puzzles. I knew these would be a hit with him but I had no clue how much. He has really developed a love for Tinkertoys and wants to build  often! They keep his attention much longer than they keep the attention of my three year old. It’s usually the opposite with new toys in our home.

Tinkertoy flowerIt’s easy to make certain things, like flowers, with Tinkertoys and it can get more complex!

Tinertoys Addy is all about giving mama flowers these days. She loves putting this together and is so proud to give it to me! My husband and 5 year old son love working on the more complex things and, of course, building towers is always fun to do!

If you are looking for classic toys for Christmas gifts this year, add Tinkertoys to your list! They will be loved by all!
