It’s March!! It’s time to get creative and find lots of snacks and quick meals for the guys as they sit for hours and hours watching basketball! Does that happen in your house? My husband and my oldest son are glued to the television, and I can’t lie, I enjoy it too! However, with the time we spend watching games, we need quick and easy snacks and meals to get us through the games. I love adding in things like an easy salsa recipe to spice things up, too!
When doing some shopping recently at our local Walmart I was perusing the frozen section in hopes of finding some quick and easy snacks that could also be meals. My family loves Mexican food and I was thrilled to find Delimex Taquitos and Rolled Tacos.
The Rolled Tacos had me most excited to be honest. I recently tried rolled tacos at a well known fast food place (I know, I know…I should avoid that place) and I wanted to make them at home. Well, this was my chance! I got the Delimex Beef & Cheddar Rolled Tacos along with a favorite of mine: White Meat Chicken Taquitos.
The Delimex products are easily found in the Snacks & Appetizers frozen section at Walmart. They have smaller boxes if it’s only a few people and larger boxes for your game time crowds! To make things even better, you can save $1.00 on any TWO (2) Delimex® Frozen Taquito products (Excluding Fruit Taquito Products) at Walmart.
Now that I had the main dishes for our game time fun, it was time to make a dipping sauce for them. I love to eat out. It’s a bad habit of mine. I also love to try and get restaurant quality and taste in the things I make at home. There’s a local Mexican restaurant that has the most amazing salsa I’ve ever had. My friends and I joke about how addicting it is. I’ve been trying for some time now to perfect their salsa recipe with just my taste. Believe it or not, it’s come down to just five (or 6, depending on if we want spiciness or not) ingredients! It’s been easy all along and I was making it hard all of those months of trying to perfect this recipe!
Are you ready for this? It’s a very easy salsa recipe! It’s just canned tomatoes, white onion, cilantro, garlic cloves and salt. Oh, and when the guys want some spicy salsa I had jalapeno. Easy peasy, right!?
- 1 Large Can of Whole Tomatoes
- 1/2 Medium Sized White Onion
- 1 TBSP Fresh Cilantro (chopped fine)
- 2 Cloves of Fresh Garlic
- Salt to Taste
- Jalapeno (optional)
- Cut tough ends off tomatoes and put entire can (juice included) in food processor or blender.
- Add garlic and jalapeno (seeds removed) and blend until smooth.
- Chop onion and Cilantro and add to the mixture and blend a bit more just to mix.
- Add salt to taste (I used approximately 1/4 tsp).
- If you prefer a more chunky salsa you can chop everything by hand and mix together in a bowl.
This salsa is the perfect way to spice up the deliciousness of Delimex Taquitos and Rolled Tacos! It’s makes for a quick and easy snack or even a dinner! I paired them with Spanish Rice and served dinner to my game time crowd.
Delimex makes for easy and fun game time snacks! It’s makes for a quick and easy dinner when you’re a mama on the go! There are so many ways you can do Delimex in your house!
