First Birthdays and a Stroll Down Memory Lane #MyMemoryLane

With Annie being our last baby this year has been full of firsts for her and lasts for us. It’s bittersweet to say the least. I recently came across a box of old VHS tapes in the basement and realized we no longer even have a VHS player in the house! How on earth would I even be able to watch them to see if I wanted to keep them? I came across one particular one that was actually labeled and I was anxious to see again! It was from ZZ’s first birthday. My oldest darling son graduated from high school this year and it had probably been 5-7 years since I took a stroll down memory lane and watched the VHS tapes of him from when he was a baby. With Annie’s first birthday fast approaching we’ve been reminiscing about all of our kids’ first birthdays.

As I mentioned, this year is full of firsts that are also lasts. Our first – first birthday was almost 18 years ago. Annie will be one in February and it’s always fun to watch videos and/or see pictures of our other kids at the same ages. I partnered with YesVideo to bring ZZs first birthday VHS tapes into 2014 by converting them to DVD! I couldn’t wait to get the tape back to see my now grown son on his first birthday!

A Stroll Down Memory Lane and Tears Down My Cheeks

When the converted tape arrived on DVD I immediately put it into the DVD player and it brought tears to my eyes remembering him as such a happy-go-lucky baby! When I shared it with him, it was even more special. He hadn’t seen the video in probably 10 years and it was special for him to see again. We laughed together, he asked me questions, I shed some tears…it was special for us to watch it together.

He really was a “ham” and made us all laugh! The tears of joy were rolling down my cheeks as I proudly watched this amazing young man as a baby! I can’t thank YesVideo enough for bringing my memories back to life! The DVD will be treasured forever! ZZ and my mom have been pretty close so we are going to surprise her with a view of this DVD when we visit this Christmas. I can’t think of a better “gift” for the holidays than to bring back some amazing memories!
