We all know it’s back to school time, one thing many parents think of is what shots their family needs to get to be considered “up-to-date”. If you’ll be updating shots or getting new shots soon you’ll want to know about Walgreens and their amazing program in that they are partnering with the United Nation Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign. This partnership runs from today, September 2, through October 13th. The purpose of this program is to help children in developing countries by providing one life-saving vaccine for every flu shot or other immunization received at Walgreens.
The Get A Shot program is so amazing because it allows you and your family to get the vaccines you chose while also giving a child in another country a shot at life by providing life-saving immunizations. Did you know that 1 in 5 children around the globe still lack access to life-saving immunizations? Now is the time to take action: get the immunizations your family needs and help a child in need!
I was proud to see my local Walgreens has information about their immunizations all over! They have signs near the road, in the aisles, on the store outside and by the pharmacy, too!! It’s not only back to school time, but it’s also that time of year that flu shots are becoming available. My local Walgreens has them already and it’s a great time to get it knowing that for each person in your family that gets the flu shot, a child in need will also get an immunization at no extra cost to you. Most insurances are accepted, too! Walgreens has also donated more than $10 million in flu shot immunizations to Americans without health insurance and to those who simply cannot afford it. That’s a business that gets my attention: one that cares about others and gives back! Thumbs up, Walgreens! I’ll be a customer for life!
Outside of flu shots, Walgreens offers a wide variety of other immunizations such as the ones mentioned above on their sign. They are great at letting the public know what’s available, but if you have any questions at all, their pharmacy staff is incredibly helpful as well!
Walgreens is just around right down the street, “at the corner of Happy & Healthy”, so what are you waiting for? Get your family ready and go get those flu shots you’ve been talking about! Check out all of the other immunizations they offer and get what you need before October 13, 2014 so you can help Walgreens to help as many children as possible through the United Nations Shot@Life campaign!
Thank you to Walgreens for the #GetAShot Give A Shot campaign and to #CollectiveBias and Walgreens for encouraging this topic discussion.
