An Infant Sleep Routine at Two Months? Yes! (HALO Giveaway!)

When I was pregnant with Annie her most active time was late at night. Someone told me that her most active time when she was born would be the same as when I was pregnant. I, of course, hoped they were wrong. But, they were right. When she was born she was a night owl. So much so that it seemed her days and nights were completely mixed up. I had to do something to get her on a routine and sleeping at the right time. I planned to tackle the impossible, an infant sleep routine!

Our Infant Sleep Routine

I was able to successfully turn her night and days to their right places after just a short time. I believe it took about a week of work. First and most important, I kept everything consistent. We would get the bigger kids ready and put them to bed and then it would be one on one time with Annie. I would change her diaper, get her pajamas on (if they weren’t already on), put on her new HALO Muslin SleepSack that we were sent for review, and nurse her to sleep. Once she was asleep I’d put her in her bassinet beside my bed. That became our routine and that’s what I believe finally got her on a regular nighttime schedule.

After doing this routine for several weeks now she’s actually on a schedule! Her sleep routine has been consistent and it’s become something she seems to need. She get sleepy during the time the bigger kids are getting down for bed so I know she’s ready for her time. One of the things I’ve come to really love about her nighttime needs (besides our quiet nursing time) is the HALO 100% Muslin cotton SleepSack. Yes, I said Muslin!!  I LOVE this material and I’m thrilled that one of our favorite companies has come out with new Muslin SleepSacks and Swaddles!!

Halo Muslin SleepSack
If you’ve been around Mama on a Green Mission for a while, you know that HALO is a favorite brand of ours and we’ve used it with all three of our little ones. We’ve passed the swaddling stage with Annie and she seems to not want something tights around her when sleeping so that’s another reason I am thrilled about SleepSacks from HALO! The HALO Muslin SleepSack is not only safe and warm, but it’s incredibly soft! As with all of our other Muslin material baby items, it has gotten softer with each wash! We are in love with this! Take a look at the features of this SleepSack:

  • Replaces loose blankets for safe sleep.
  • Recognized as “Hip Healthy” by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
  • Inverted zipper for easy diaper changes.
  • Machine wash with like colors.
  • 100% Cotton Muslin

SleepSacks from HALO are, by far, the safest means of keeping baby warm while sleeping. I have zero worry that a blanket will get put over her head or she’ll get twisted in it and suffocate. HALO SleepSacks bring so much peace of mind to our household and I think every home with a baby should have a week’s supply of them! They also make the perfect shower gift and don’t forget: they help in making that infant sleep routine a success!

HALO Innovation’s SleepSack® wearable blankets have become the standard for hospital nurseries and parents alike. In fact, 1,250 hospital nurseries use the HALO SleepSack Swaddle instead of blankets through the HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative. HALO Innovations also offers free Safe Sleep Practices kits to childbirth educators to help further the cause of SIDS prevention.

Purchase: You can purchase Halo SleepSacks on their website or at a local retailer! They are also available on Amazon for convenient online purchasing!
