Pregnancy Journal – 23 Weeks Pregnant and Moving!

This pregnancy is definitely moving along pretty fast. Before we know it, the holidays will be upon us and it will go even faster! 23 weeks pregnant and moving meaning baby girl is moving a lot!!! This past weekend she was moving more than ever and it was GREAT feeling her! I think most mamas would agree that baby moving is one of the best parts of pregnancy!

About Baby This Week: (from BabyCenter.com) Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about the size of a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby’s increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won’t faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

How am I feeling? Ugh. I’ve seen better days. I’m still not having any energy. I am dragging most days and it’s hard to keep up with everything. Heartburn here and there, nothing major this week. The cold seems to have gone away. Still have pain in my hips at night when sleeping on one side too long…this pain seems to be getting worse. 🙁 Round ligament pain has also been pretty bad anytime I stand up and walk. I feel like I’m wobbling in pain. lol

Food Cravings/Aversions: Nothing major this past week that I needed. I’m surprised…it’s been a few weeks without cravings.

Sleep: I feel like I am getting up more and more. 2-3 times each night but I wake often to turn over. It’s going to be a long 17 weeks ahead of me. lol

Baby’s Movement: I still don’t feel baby much during the week, during the day but as I mentioned before I believe that’s because my days are so busy and I don’t notice it. This past weekend I noticed her a lot and it was amazing! <3

Weight: Still haven’t gained or lost…other than a few ounces or a pound here and there. My weight fluctuates within a few pounds but nothing noticeable.

Next Appointment: My next OB appointment is on Halloween! Should I dress up!? 😉

What happened this week? LA is doing better and better on the potty and (if you are a mama, you’ll know this is exciting news) he went poo-poo on the pottay!!!!!!  WOOHOO!!!!!  GO LA!!!!!  haha! 😉 We went to Disney on Ice Thursday, which was amazing!!!! Saturday night Addy started sounding hoarse out of the blue. We heard the croup cough in the middle of the night and she of course got worse as the night/morning went on. We took her to urgent care to be tested for strep and ear infections those were both negative, thank God. She has meds for croup and breathing treatments 2 times a day. Poor baby. 🙁

I also recently made a list of things I want to get done before baby arrives and have broken the things down by weekend. I have lots of time at this point so I’m only doing 1-2 things each weekend and it feels great!! Last weekend I cleaned out the pantry. This past weekend I cleaned out the linen closet and LA’s closet. The coming weeks will be cleaning out Addy’s closet and cleaning out our night stands! I really want to get things moving along and get to selling a bunch of things we no longer need to clear some space! I’m finding I do much better at things when I make a list of what needs to be done.

Something that upset me: My job. It’s getting really stressful and will only get worse between now and December. I am so over it and really want to quit when baby arrives. I just need to figure out a way to supplement our income.

Something I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to date night with hubby this week to see Josh Groban. I wish we could go out for dinner before hand but I doubt we’ll have time. I am also looking forward to having FOUR full days off this week!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!!!

Boy or Girl? Those strong feelings I had early on about gender proved to be right!!! We’re having a girl!!!!!!!!

Countdown: 17 weeks to go if we go to 40 weeks! At this rate I am just praying all of the stress on my job doesn’t put me into early labor.

  1. I could have written this post! I am due with baby #3 on Feb. 16th. After two boys, I am having a girl. Unlike my other two pregnancies, this baby girl is making me exhausted! I have no energy to run around and chase a 3 year old and an 18 month old.

I am sorry to hear about your job. I definitely can relate to having a high stress job while pregnant. I hope you are able to figure out a way to stay home full time. It seems to get harder and harder for families to survive on one income. We have been talking about it for a while but my income (I work two days out of the home) pays college loans =(

    Hang in there, mama.

  2. I get the hip pain while sleeping as well! At first it seems I can go several hours without it bothering me then I feel like I’m flipping every hour and its not a good sleep. I feel your pain!
