Pregnancy Journal – 22 Weeks and Tired!?

Twenty-two weeks and tired. Wow. More than half way to meeting our baby girl. I am getting nervous and excited! Nervous because we’ll be out numbered by little ones and I wonder how on earth I’ll care for 3 little ones! Some days it is challenging with two! Most times the nervousness is pushed aside and I am very excited to bring another baby girl into our family!

Baby’s Size This Week: (from BabyCenter.com) At 11 inches and almost 1 pound (about the size of a spaghetti squash), your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he’s even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.

If you could see inside your womb, you’d be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he’ll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

How am I feeling? TIRED!!!!  I was sick this past week…it seemed like the 24 hour flu without any major symptoms other than stomach pain. I left work early one day and went home and slept for 4 hours and still went to bed at like 8:30 that night. I’ve been extremely tired. Tired so much that I am ready for bed by 8pm even on the days I wasn’t sick!! Heartburn hasn’t been quite as bad this week. I am fighting what seems to be a cold now. Ugh. I just want to feel well again and have some energy.

Food Cravings/Aversions: Nothing major this past week that I needed.

Sleep: I’m still sleeping pretty good. Still getting up to go to the restroom a few times per night. My hips are hurting when I lay on one side too much. I feel like I turn a lot during the night but when I am sleeping, it’s good sleep.

Baby’s Movement: I have often read that you will feel baby more at night because that’s when you aren’t distracted with a million other things going on. Well, it’s so true! I feel baby girl mostly at night. There are times I’ll feel her when I am driving or when I am sitting at work, but primarily I feel her at night. My days have been crazy busy so it’s pretty normal that I am not noticing her kicks through the day as much. It’s such a great feeling when I do feel her movements! <3

Weight: When I was sick I did lose two pounds. I haven’t weighed myself in a few days but I am thinking I am still pretty much at zero pounds overall weight loss/gain.

Next Appointment: My next OB appointment is on Halloween! Should I dress up!? 😉

What happened this week? Well, not a lot. LA had a break through and has been using the potty pretty regularly! We were pretty excited about that! We took the kids to a farm Saturday and they were able to pet animals, ride horses, play on the playscape and take a hay ride. It was a beautiful day for this and we had lots of fun!

Something that upset me: Nothing really this week other than being sick. That’s never fun. 🙁

Something I am looking forward to: I’m looking forward to going to Disney on Ice this week and Josh Groban concert next week!

Boy or Girl? Those strong feelings I had early on about gender proved to be right!!! We’re having a girl!!!!!!!!

Countdown: 18 weeks to go if we go to 40 weeks!

Pregnant? How is it going this week? Have you gotten any nesting urges?

  1. Congratulations! I’m 24 weeks with a boy this time- and feeling very tired also!

  2. Hope you are feeling much better! I had the same problem with my hips hurting probably around the same time. Now it is worse, haha. Hopefully it doesn’t get much worse for you later in pregnancy!
