Pregnancy Journal – 14 Weeks and Helloooo Second Trimester!

Ok, ok…so it’s the second journal post and I’m late already! I meant to post this Sunday, however, I just couldn’t fit it into the schedule. Sunday was the beginning of my second trimester! Time is flying already! 14 weeks…soon to be 15, before we know it we’ll be at the half way point and finding out baby’s gender, and then it will fly even more and before we know it, our bundle of joy will be in our arms!

Pregnancy Journal 4.0

Baby’s Size This Week: Baby is about the size of a lemon this week and weighs nearly an ounce and a half. More from BabyCenter about baby this week: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he’ll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you’re having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

How am I feeling? The tired stage has remained, although it is getting better. I have some energy early in the days and I am not ready to pass out at 8pm. I’ve been staying up a bit later this past week and I am tired, but don’t feel like I am exhausted. The nauseous feeling is pretty much gone. Only on occasion will I feel sick. The headaches have slowed down, although my sinuses and allergies have been terrible this week. 🙁 I’ve also been pretty moody the past several weeks. Still moody with work and only a bit at home. I still adore hubby and want cuddles often, glad I’m not taking any attitude out on him…unless I just haven’t noticed doing so! haha! 🙂

Food Cravings/Aversions: I am still wanting soup, pretty much daily. Mostly broccoli cheddar soup. That’s really been my only craving that I can recall. I have wanted sweets a bit more this week, which hasn’t been the norm. Aversions? Still don’t have a huge desire for meats, but it is getting better.

Sleep: I’ve been getting up a lot to go to the bathroom, but still sleeping pretty good between bathroom trips.

Baby’s Movement: I’ve not felt any yet, hoping to soon!

Weight: I started this pregnancy too large so I kinda need to lose weight at this point. The doctor said I should only gain 10-15 pounds the whole pregnancy. I haven’t gained or lost any this week.

Next Appointment: This Friday!!!  Unfortunately I am not going to be able to see MY doctor because I am switching office locations and she is not at this location on Fridays. I will see another female doctor that is in the practice though, the one who delivered LA. I am pretty comfy with her so I am ok with seeing her.

What happened this week? The biggest thing we did this week was went to the Thomas the Train event! It was super fun and there was lots to do…we were there a lot longer than I expected and I was exhausted when we left. I also made a last minute trip with the kids to see my mom over the weekend, which was nice, but the drive was exhausting. That was the first time I had driven there in a long time…hubby usually does all of the driving.

Something that upset me: With this being baby #4 I am hearing quite often when sharing our news, “ANOTHER ONE!!??” That is pretty upsetting to me because #1…it’s none of their business how many kids my husband and I chose to have if we can support them on our own. #2…why would you say that??? A baby is a blessing and for anyone to ask me if this baby was a mistake (yes, I’ve had people ask that) is rather insulting.

Something I am looking forward to: Of course I am looking forward to feeling baby move and finding out baby’s gender. I’ve not done any of the gender prediction tests this time that I did with Addy so I really am left with just my gut feeling.

Boy or Girl? As I said, I’ve not done any of the gender prediction tests, but personally I am feeling like this is a girl. Hubby is thinking a boy so it will be interesting to see who it right!

That’s about it for this week! So happy to be done with the first trimester and getting closer to feeling baby move and seeing baby on the ultrasound! It’s weeks away!!!
