Day four of the March blog challenge is all about a favorite childhood memory.
There are a few things from my childhood that make me smile. There are stories from these two things that I used to tell my oldest son about what I did when I was a kid and will probably tell the little ones, too. Today, I get to tell you the basics of these memories!
My Childhood Memories
When I was young we lived in the country and had a front yard bigger than a football field that had lots of hills. We often had family gatherings on the weekends and the times in that front yard with my sisters and cousins were so fun. We were always rolling down hills, playing football, sledding, or playing tag or hide-n-go seek. There was always something going on outside that didn’t include video games and sitting on the couch (hence the childhood stories I told my oldest son when he always wants to play games!! LOL) There was food being cooked in the summer and just remembering the fun and the smell of food in the background still makes me smile! We have a huge family so there were always tons of cousins around to have fun with and it never mattered whether it was cold or hot, we were always playing outside. Fun times!
We also used to take yearly trips to northern Michigan each year to see family. We would always visit beaches and waterfalls…northern Michigan has some gorgeous nature scenery and I remember it as clear as it was yesterday. These again were fun times with parents, sisters and cousins! We would all go to tourist attractions together, even if my aunt and uncle had already taken their family there. It was great fun!
I can’t wait to read about some of the other childhood memories of the bloggers linking up in the challenge! Thanks to Tiffany at Fabulous Finds by Tiffany for hosting this fun event!
