Valentine’s Day is next week! Can you believe it? That’s right, Valentine’s Day is Thursday, February 14! Have you thought about what gift you’ll be getting for your special someone? I’m always stuck when it comes to ideas for my husband. He’s not really a Valentine’s mushy kinda guy, but then again not many men are, right? 
Many sites seems to think the most popular gift for Valentine’s Day is the gift of flowers and I tend to agree.. Flowers any time of year can brighten someone’s day and red roses just spread the feeling of love…perfect for Valentine’s Day, the “day of love”. My husband will typically get me red roses for Valentine’s Day and although I know this it’s ALWAYS a welcome gift that I love! Something I like doing for our family for Valentine’s Day is making chocolate covered strawberries. I absolutely love them and everyone in my family does too so it’s our dessert on Valentine’s Day! Back to gifts for significant others though, another popular gift would be lingerie for both him and her! I’ve seen “Property of…” boxers where you can personalize them with the significant other’s name. Matching sets are always a sweet idea too and throw a few candles and cologne in, you’ve got yourself a great gift and the perfect plan for a romantic evening! My husband and I also plan a “date night” close to Valentine’s Day. We agree that we won’t go out for dinner ON Valentine’s Day because it is CRAZY busy anywhere we go, so we always make it a different night and enjoy our night out.
Do you ever buy gifts for friends on Valentine’s Day? I have, in the past, bought things for friends to help brighten their days too. On occasion it’s been a single friend who was feeling bad about being alone on Valentine’s Day, other times it’s been just a gift to say “I appreciate and love you and recognize that today!” I have sent my best friend and my mother flowers on Valentine’s Day. I typically pick a bouquet that is full of lilies that are perfect for friends and they always love it!

I was a single mother with 2 children, so My valentine was always spent with them and still does. Even though they have a husband and girlfriend, they buy me something or take me out to dinner. They are the greatest.
I just recently found a great Etsy shop that creates hand-stamped metal guitar picks. My hubby plays guitar, so I figured it would be the perfect gift! I got him a pick key ring that says “I Pick You” with our anniversary on the back. Cheesy, I know, but I think he’ll love it.
I usually only give gifts to my husband… and now my two young grandsons. I love showering them with gifts. Usually a card, some kind of dessert, and a plush toy for my grandsons.
