This post comes with a few stories, aren’t you lucky? I was chatting away with my good friend, Bri, a few weeks ago and I had mentioned we were having chili for dinner. Bri told me they don’t eat chili because her husband doesn’t like beans. That made me chuckle because that’s what everyone thinks of when they think of chili…beans. Well, when we make chili at our house, we make it without beans! You read that right, NO BEANS here.
So then I mentioned to my husband that Bri said they don’t eat chili because they don’t like beans and I then told him what I said to her, “we make chili without beans because we don’t like them either!” His reply? “YOU don’t like beans. I like beans.” I was laughing in my head because when we have chili for dinner 9 times out of 10 HE makes it and I NEVER realized in all this time we’ve been together that HE makes it without beans because I don’t like them. That gave me yet another reason to love my husband! That melted my heart a bit! <3 him!
After that I began thinking about how the both of us eat our chili so differently. I add a million things to mine, hubby adds one thing to his. I then thought about chili bars and how many ingredients there really can be so it made me want to ask you what you eat in your chili?
Here are the basic ingredients we use when cooking the chili:
- Tomato Sauce
- Chili Seasoning
After it’s done, here’s what we add into ours:
This is my darling husband’s bowl of chili. He simply eats it over rice. I had never heard of this before we met and it doesn’t really sound good to me, but he loves it!
This, my friends, is MY chili. It doesn’t even look like a “soup” anymore when I dress it up! HAHA! Here are all of the things I put into my chili:
Yes, all of that in one bowl of chili! YUM! This post is making me hungry!
