Moraki Cloth Diapers are new to the cloth diapering world. They opened in the summer of 2012 and released an amazing diaper that can be used as either an AI2 or a pocket diaper. Moraki was born from a desire to protect baby and earth and actually is a Greek word that means “baby”. They offer a 30 day Wash and Wear Guarantee and an 18 month Warranty. The diapers are made by mamas right here in the USA, in California to be exact. This company is one that will be around for a while, as in the future they plan to release AIOs, fitteds, prefolds, flats, wet bags, napkins, sandwich bags, mama cloth, family cloth, and more. Those are definitely some things I am looking forward to! Moraki can be respected for their dedication to not only making amazing cloth diapers, but for being an eco-friendly and sustainably conscience business which itself supports local economy with local suppliers and partners for materials. Thumbs up, Moraki!
As I mentioned, the diaper can be used as either an AI2 or as a pocket diaper. I love the options and I love that the inserts are all natural so that is you do use it as an AI2, only natural fibers are against baby’s skin. You can see in the below diagram how easy it is to use either way.
The ease of use make these diapers ideal for daddy and daycare!
The Features We Wish Every Diaper Had – Moraki Has Them!
The Fold-To-Fit™ Inserts feature an innovative circular design. This design allows fast drying time and adjustablity. They are made of four layers of 55% Hemp and 45% Organic Cotton: a great combination in my opinion! The inserts are available in three sizes and are sold separately from the covers. The diaper does have four snap rise settings, allowing it to fit babies from birth through potty training (approximately 7-40 pounds!). It also has wing snaps!!! Yes that little feature sure excites me as we’ve had some droopy diapers in the past but that is not a problem with Moraki! There is also a tummy panel in the front inside of the diaper to prevent wicking, and an envelope pocket opening that allows the inserts to agitate out in the wash! That’s yet another great feature!
Beauty and Fit – It Doesn’t Get Any Better
You can see we tried this diaper on a few different rise settings. Baby Addy is about 22 pounds and we ended up using it on the small rise setting as seen on the far right above. I love the “Hippie” print on this diaper and it’s bold colors! It’s absolutely beautiful in person!
The legs fit great! We didn’t have one leak in this diaper! It didn’t leave red marks on Addy’s legs either, another definite plus!
With this little girl being a new walker, I had the hardest time getting a bum shot! She is a mover, for sure! I had to get her in action but you can see the bright colors and the great fit on this diaper! We’ve used it both both one insert and two for nap time and it’s been amazing!
The laundering process is fairly simple. It does require more prepping than microfiber because the inserts are natural fibers. Once prepped though it is simple from there on out! The drying time is rather quick and I appreciate and love that about these diapers! My only wish is that they would add an aplix closure option, you know this mama loves aplix!
Final Thoughts: We really enjoyed this diaper! It has a lot of amazing features: the inserts (material and drying time), the envelope pocket, the wing snaps, the print, the function! It works great, looks great and I can’t wait to get more of these for our stash! **Please make aplix, wonderful people at Moraki!!**
