Help Cross off Hunger with Unilever #BetterTogether

This time of year is when many of us think about giving, donating and volunteering. Hunger is a problem year-round and something that needs serious attention. I love supporting companies that see how big of a difference they can make and they step up to be that change. That’s one thing I love about Unilever! They stand for sustainable living, one example of which is their Cross Off Hunger Campaign in partnership with Feeding America. They are stepping up and Making Life Better!

You and I can also be a part of the Cross of Hunger campaign by simply using our favorite Unilever products in our sustainable living routines, or by educating ourselves on the needs of food banks and helping where we can. I was shocked to learn that the top 10 items of need for food banks don’t all include food. They are also in need of personal care products, baby items, and OUR HELP! They do also need many food items, many of which are Unilever products that we can purchase and donate! In my opinion, we live in a country that is too rich to have hungry people. It’s really sad that we allow it to happen. It doesn’t have to.

My hearts hurts when I think that there are children, babies, teens, and adults that are hungry every day.

In fact, did you know:

  • 1 in 6 Americans do not have access to enough food.
  • 36% of individuals served by the Feeding America network have at least one working adult in the household…the problem isn’t only an issue with those who struggle with poverty and homelessness.
  • According to the USDA, nearly 17 million CHILDREN are living in food-insecure households.
  • More than 50 million Americans do not get enough food, according to the USDA.

Unilever is committed to donating more than two million meals to families in need with Feeding America and every item on your shopping list counts.  Show your support by adding Unilever brands to your cart next time you shop.  Together we can help to Cross Off Hunger. Unilever ProductsUnilever has a huge family of products that include: Klondike, Lipton, Q-Tips, Ragu, Skippy, Slim-Fast, St Ives, Suave, Vaseline, Axe, Ben & Jerry’s, Breyer’s , Country Crock, Dove, Hellman’s, and many, many more! I didn’t have to go far to find lots of Unilever products around! We use them every day! I am a tea drinker and you can see I have a selection of Lipton teas on hand!

We are also huge fans of their Bertolli frozen meals! With my work schedule, on work days, these make for a tasty, quick dinner! I have also been addicted to Country Crock spread for many years! Did you know that Ben & Jerry’s and Breyers are also Unilever brands? They are! We also regularly use Ragu, Q-Tips (I swear, the Q-Tip brand is the ONLY brand that works well when it comes to cotton swabs!), and Brisk! Oh, I can’t forget the Dove Men’s soap that my husband uses….mmmmm, that stuff smells so good!! 🙂 If you family is anything like mine, it will be easy to support Unilever’s commitment to help with our purchases, especially with these great brands!

Desk with Unilever Products

At work, I can even find Unilever brands on my desk! I regularly drink Brisk tea from our soda machine! LOVE IT! I also have VERY dry hands in the winter and use Vaseline to help moisturize so I keep it on my desk and use it many times throughout the day! I bet if you look around your house, you can find many, many Unilever products too! If not, go buy some and help make a difference! 😉

This coming long-holiday weekend my husband and I have decided to hold a food bank-drive of our own.

We have notified all of our relatives that we are doing this. We are so thankful for our blessings that we want to encourage our families to donate, too! We have asked our family members to purchase Unilever products to be collected at our holiday celebrations and we’ll gather them and donate them to a local food bank. I encourage you all to do the same thing this holiday weekend! Many times we don’t take the time to sit and think about just how blessed we really are. We don’t make that small effort to pick up a few items and invite our friends and family to do the same to make a larger difference with a combined donation. Let’s take action this holiday season and see what we can do! I invite you to come back after the holidays and see what we are able to collect and hear all about our donations! Let’s all make it #BetterTogether!

  1. This is so great! I literally just got a box of goodies together to donate just have to drop it off! It is great to see others doing this 🙂 We love Unilever too!

  2. What a great idea. I always try to teach my children to give back to the community and holding our own family food drive would be a great way to work with our community and demonstrate the giving spirit to our children. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Danielle @ We Have It All says:

How did I not know about this?!? Thanks for the info, I will be sure to keep a look out for these products. What a great program!

  4. This sounds like a great program! We use a lot of Unilever products in our house (especially the Vaseline lotion). I’ll have to see if anyone local is doing a drive, I’d love to contribute.
