This year, Halloween should be incredibly fun. LA had an Eeyore costume last year, but this year he, of course, outgrew that so we needed to get a new costume. LA turned two in July and although I know he will be hesitant, I also know he’ll really enjoy Halloween! He has been an Elmo addict for the past few months so when it came to selecting his 2012 Halloween costume, I had an easy decision.
Wholesale Costume Club was one of the first places that came to mind when I started looking for a costume. I looked at the site several times to see if I could find something that would be a better choice, but in the end I simply typed into their search the word “Elmo” and up came the costume I knew would be perfect for LA! The Sesame Street Toddler Elmo Comfy Fur costume is a two piece costume that includes a body suit and a piece for over the toddler’s head.
What I love about the head piece is that it doesn’t obstruct the child’s view in anyway! The face is fully visible and Elmo’s eyes and nose are on top of your little one’s head. I also love that it’s a “fur” costume because living in Michigan it is very possible that we may have very cold weather for Trick-or-Treating. I am comfortable knowing he will be warm when we go out. I do wish there were mittens over the hands though, but we can purchase some inexpensive red mittens to go along if it happens to be cold. Not having “feet” in the costume is perfect because it allows for easy walking from house to house with shoes on! The only problem we have with the costume is the size. LA wears a size 2T in everything: clothing, coats, etc. I ordered a 2T, although I was a bit hesitant because I wanted to make sure he had enough room to wear stuff underneath also. Because the next size up is a 3T-4T I went ahead and ordered the 2T to make sure it wasn’t too big. When we received it he wanted to put the costume on immediately. He was amazed by this Elmo costume that he could wear!!
We put it on and hubby and I stepped back to look and it is way too short on his legs. I would say it’s about 3-4 inches above his ankles. These pictures I took with pants underneath that are size 24 months just to give an idea of how the 2T fit him. Other than that, the costume fits great, looks great and we have a difficult time keeping it off of him! He loves wearing it around the house and even wore it when we had our LeapFrog party! We may end up just buying some red leggings to put under it so he can still wear it for Trick-or-Treating this year.
