You’ve heard me talk about the Go Green Get Fit challenge that I started several months back. I was excited about starting the challenge and getting exercise back into my life. We all know with exercise comes sweat so we need to be prepared with some great, green body products. I was really happy to try two great products from Ely Organics and Miessence: the body wash and deodorant.
The item I was most excited about was the body wash. Wait, I can’t say that now that I think about it, I was excited about both products. A more accurate statement would be that the product that impressed me the most was the body wash. The bottles says it is “Sunflower Body Wash”. I thought this would be a very “flowery” scent, but I was wrong. That was far from the truth as it has an amazing, relaxing scent. I am wishing I could get a candle and every other body product in this scent, that’s how much I like it! The bady wash is organic and it gently cleanses your body while moisturizing it with lashings of vitamin-rich, cold-pressed organic sunflower oil. It also contains invigorating orange peel, lemon peel and lime peel oils. I really have become quite fond of this body wash and it’s scent. How does it work though? I’ve used it for my regular daily showers as well as for after trail walking and I’ve been very pleased with the outcome. I love that it can be used as a safe alternative to children’s bubble bath and baby wash products. The only down side of this product is the cost. At $18.90 for an 8.5 ounce bottle, it is more costly than I can spend most times. It does have a ranking of 1 in the safe cosmetics database though, so it is worth it to splurge!
The second item I was able to try was the deodorant. I selected the Tahitiana Breeze scent and had high hopes of this being my answer to finding a safe deodorant that I liked. I have tried a few “green” deodorants and although I loved the ingredients and what was NOT in them, I found myself smelling unfavorably when I used them. I had great hopes of Miessence curing that dilemma for me. The scent I was sadly not fond of. It actually made me feel like I was wearing a manly scent. Outside of the scent, the deodorant itself worked great! It lasted all day and I didn’t have any unwanted/unpleasant smells coming from my arm pits! 
I would love to get some of this in a different scent, however, the only other scent available is Ancient Spice and I’m not really a spice girl either. Maybe I’ll go with the unscented just because I know it’s safer than what I’ve been using, after all, it’s rank is a ZERO in the safe cosmetics data base!
