Welcome to another fabulous Friday! Sabrina from Eco Baby Mama Drama and I have another fluffy feature for you! This week we are featuring For the Monster and one of the diapers they carry: Knickernappies.
For the Monster is an online retailer and retailer in the local area of northwest Arkansas that has “your monster covered”! They have all kinds of cloth diapers and accessories along with many other products for mom and baby. For The Monster is the home of baby wearing, cloth diapering, breast feeding supplies and more – yes, that makes it a great place for this mama to shop since we do all of those things! For the Monster was started in 2004 in Kansas. In 2009 they relocated to northwest Arkansas. The store is operated by a stay at home mama who enjoys sharing her love of natural parenting. They have some great ways to earn free diapers that you’ll want to check out and orders over $100 ship for FREE!
Gena, the owner and natural parenting lover kindly sent us a Knickernappies one-size diaper in spring green for review. Knickernappies are made in the USA. They are pocket diapers (opening in the back) with side snaps and come with two microfiber inserts. The four sizes that the diapers adjusts to allow it to fit most babies from 8-40 pounds! The outer part of this diaper is made of PUL and the inner is a non-pilling fleece.
You can see it has a great fit in the front! We could probably even lower the rise one more setting to get an even better fit. (Please ignore big brother’s toes in the pics! He likes to be in the middle of whatever is going on!)
This is a side view of the diaper with one insert in for day time use. It is rather trim and you can see the snaps are on the smallest setting for our 14 pound baby so there is plenty of room for her to grow in this diaper. The diaper fits great around her legs too and has very gentle elastic, which means no marks on her legs!
Here’s her fluffy bum! She is a mover so it was hard to take this pic but you can see it fits snug around her waist and legs but still gives her the freedom she needs to move around!
These are the inserts to the diaper. They are two microfiber inserts and I like that they are square compared to most others that have the rounded edges. I didn’t notice any kind of difference because of them, but I like that they are different!
The sides of this diaper are amazing. I had to show you how large they are compared to other side snapping diapers we have. The snaps are spaced out more and I really think this allows for room to fit baby better and I’m sure it contributes to the fact that this diaper can fit babies up to 40 pounds!
Laundering this diaper is rather easy. There are no special requirements outside of normal cloth diapering care. We simply wash it with the rest of our diapers and dry as normal in the dryer on low heat. My husband wasn’t overly fond of the diaper, but we all know how he feels about snaps. He did actually use it though, which is more than I can say for many other snapping diapers in our stash.
Final thoughts: I love, love, love the inner fleece in this diaper. Through many washes it has stayed incredibly soft! We’ve not had any leaks in this diaper either and we have even used it once overnight with two inserts. I do prefer using natural fiber inserts, however, the microfiber did work well and of course can be changed to natural inserts if you prefer.
Purchase: You can visit For the Monster and purchase Knickernappies diapers for $19.95 with the microfiber inserts or $24.95 for the Loop Do inserts, which are two layers of hemp and two layers of microfiber.
Win: You can enter to win a $20 gift card to For the Monster by filling out the form below! You can spend your $20 on this wonderful diaper or something else if you’d rather!
