Our little guy is 22 months old now and has become quite the Mr. Independent man! 🙂 He loves feeding himself and there are times that he will NOT eat if I am trying to feed him. He absolutely must feed himself. It’s been difficult finding the right tableware for him that works well with him. Being a toddler, you can imagine his coordination skills aren’t 100% yet so it can be a challenge for him. Something that has helped us tremendously are the Re-Play dishes we were sent for review! Wait til you hear about these! They are super-amazing dishes for your little one with an eco-friendly kick to them! 🙂
All of the Re-Play tableware products are made from recycled plastic. Re-Play dishes are so much better for the environment because not only are they made from recycled milk jugs, but because of that, they help to save energy, water, resources and landfill space all while helping to reduce pollution! We love these green facts about Re-Play! As I said, the Re-Play products are made from recycled milk jugs and they are BPA, Phthalate and PVC free. These dishes come in orange, pink, green and turquoise colors and are super durable and even better? They are affordable. Very affordable! In fact, I’ve already bought more!
I don’t even know where to begin with what we love about these. We love everything, but let me give you the details! First and foremost the fact that they are made from recycled products and that they are incredibly affordable and dishwasher safe are some great qualities. We received a 3-pack of plates and bowls as well as 2 cups and 3 each of the spoons and forks. Let me tell you our favorite feature of each product.
The plates are incredible for toddlers who are learning to eat, especially if you have a Mr/Miss Independent like we do! We’ve noticed on other toddler plates when LA tries to pick up the food with a spoon he pushes it to the edge and it falls off of the plate. He gets discouraged or frustrated and depending on how hungry and/or tired he is we could end up with a very frustrated, fussy toddler on our hands. That’s where the Re-Play plates come in and save the day. These plates are divided into three sections, preventing toddlers from mixing their food and making a huge mess AND they have DEEP sections making it so much easier for toddler to be able to get something onto their spoon without the food ending up off of the plate. I think that is one of the BEST features of these plates, hands down.
As you can tell from my babbling about the plates they are my absolute favorite item in the set and we use them daily! Coming in a close second would be the spoons. We didn’t use the forks much because our little guy is still adjusting to using spoons and picking things up with them…he hasn’t gotten the fork thing yet. The spoons are WIDE and allow for error. By that what I mean is that they allow a toddler to drop things from the spoon on the way to their mouth and the spoon will not be empty when it reaches his/her mouth. If they/you fill the spoon there is plenty of room for enough food that some of it WILL make it to the mouth. This is so important to me because I’ve seen the disappointment in my little guy’s face when he’s trying so hard to eat and he drops the food before the spoon reaches his mouth. With these spoons he feels like he’s accomplished something even when he’s dropped some of his food because he is still feeding himself!
The bowls are great for snacks like cereal or fruit. He did often trying picking up the bowls more than he would use a utensil with them but he still had success! 🙂 Finally, the cups…we didn’t have ONE leak with these cups. They are easy for toddlers to hold and drink from. They are spill proof and our little guy didn’t even have an adjustment period when he tried these cups. Many times with new cups he is hesitant but these are pretty universal as far as how they are shaped so he drank from them right away and never stops! 🙂
My Final Thoughts: Everyone in our home loves these, my husband, myself and our toddler. Even Baby Addy loves them, she just doesn’t know it yet! 😉 These are very durable and work incredibly well for a toddler when learning how to eat. Another great fact about Re-Play? They are made in the USA and they are dishwasher safe – perfect for us busy mamas! I recommend everyone get these for your own little ones AND give them as gifts! Let’s help save the world and get great products too! 🙂
