Joovy’s Ergo Caboose for Infant and Toddler to the Rescue!

Now that we have two little ones under the age of two we have to have a double stroller. Yes, it is a must when we go somewhere. There are definitely safety requirements when toting around two little ones and some strollers don’t work for two kids under two because of age/size requirements. I was beyond thrilled when we were given the opportunity to review Joovy’s Ergo Caboose double stroller.

Joovy is an American company with locations in Texas and California. They are known for extra-large canopies on all of their strollers as well as sealed, ball bearing wheels and swing away trays. They also have some great, bold fabrics on many of their products but the Ergo Caboose is only available in black. Joovy is a family-run company that feels their best product development comes from listening to their customers! Thumbs up for listening to us mamas, Joovy!  

Oh wait, that’s not true…our little guy helped!

The Joovy Ergo Caboose double stroller is can be used from birth to 45 pounds so it is really the only stroller you will ever need! One of my favorite things about this stroller is that is can accommodate an infant car seat. With Baby Addy being only three months (as of Sunday) it is difficult to take her in and out of the car seat and then fit her into a stroller. I prefer having her as close as possible anyway and the car seat attachment that came with the Ergo Caboose is incredibly easy to install and use so she ca stay in her car seat and be in the rear of the stroller right by mama when I am pushing the stroller!

The car seat attachment folds with the stroller too so there is no need to remove it until baby is older and you no longer need to use the car seat with her. When you are ready to remove it, it literally takes about a minute to remove, another quick and easy feature of this stroller!

Another fabulous feature that I appreciate with having two little ones is the roomy basket! I am able to get my (rather large) purse, diaper bag and a few shopping bags into this basket while at the mall.

It is not only roomy, but Joovy makes it very easy to access by designing the rear seat to flip up revealing the entire basket!

There an easy to push button on the bottom of the rear seat that you use to simply raise the seat and access the large basket!

The basket also has mesh pockets on the outside to quickly store or access smaller items like burp cloths or small snacks. I also love the safety feature of having the reflector on the basket.

You can see in this picture that was taken at dusk that the reflector works great!

The brakes on this stroller are super easy to use and access and work very well. Simply step on the brake just beside either of the rear wheels. These are also vital to the safety of our little ones. I have found the brakes to be the most important when I am alone with the little ones and I am putting them in or taking them out of the car. I need the brakes on the stroller to work well so it doesn’t move as I am taking a child in or out and putting them in or taking them out of the car since there is still one child in the stroller.

The front seat is ergonomically designed and is the most advanced stroller seat on the market today. It is actually designed to eliminate pressure points by evenly distributing the child’s weight across the entire mesh seat and it keeps working as your child grows! They also have seat covers available for this seat in various colors if you want to add some color to your new “wheels”!

We also love this swing away tray so that LA can get in the front seat easily. He is Mr. Independent and loves climbing in by himself!

He likes to try and help attach the tray as well after he’s in!  

There is a back canopy that is removable. Because we use this stroller with Baby Addy’s car seat in the rear, we do not need this canopy at this time, however, I wanted to install it to show you how easy it is and how incredible it looks! It is attached using a zipper.

Once it is zipped on you can easily attach the back pieces in four spots. The attachments are as easy as buttons allowing this rear canopy to be installed both quickly and easily!

It is not recommended for children to sit in the rear of the stroller until they are 2.5 years old, however, I wanted to show you the features of the rear seat so with the brakes on I allowed LA to sit and get fastened in!

There are two locks, one on each side so that the stroller will not come apart when being picked up. Very helpful when loading the stroller into the car!

This is the stroller collapsed and ready to store while not in use. Excuse the grass clippings, my husband was doing the lawn and I didn’t wait for him to blow the driveway off!

You can see it fits nicely in the back of our Dodge Journey and leaves room for other things like some bags of groceries! 

You can also see in the above picture that the canopy is incredibly big and blocks sun, rain or any other weather from your little one! As far as pushing the stroller, I did need both hands most of the time, which is expected when pushing a stroller with two little ones inside. The stroller weighs only 29 pounds, which is lighter than many other double strollers on the market! My only wish list for the Ergo Caboose? I would love to see a drink holder added for mama!

The Joovy Ergo Caboose has become one of our favorite products! It is incredible for an infant and toddler and has the features we mamas can really use! Not only that, but Joovy makes those features very simple to use! Go out and get mama this stroller for Mother’s Day, she’ll love it and love you for thinking of her with this thoughtful gift!
