Although I graduated from college several years ago I still remember the outrageous prices I paid for some of my textbooks. The prices they charge are seriously ridiculous! I remember a few semesters where I paid nearly $1000 for textbooks. Yes, you can sell them back, but they give you a tiny fraction of what you paid. Doesn't seem fair, does it? I have a solution to those frustrations! I want to tell you about CampusBookRentals.com. That's … [Read more...]

I haven't had much vacation time with using maternity leave in 2010 and again this year so I get to work. Born Free Bottles & Training Cups ~ Review & GIVEAWAY!

logo-born-free

I am breastfeeding Baby Addy and have since the day she was born. I knew I would be returning to work though when she was six weeks old. When I was on maternity leave with LA in 2010 he had no problem taking a bottle. He would eat no matter what his food came in. Going from breast to bottle was no challenge for him so I didn't think it would be with Baby Addy either. Wow, did I get a surprise. While I was on maternity leave I tried several … [Read more...]

Make Spring Green with Cloth ~ Cloth Diapering a Toddler

SpringGreenCloth4

When I was pregnant with LA and telling my friends that I was going to use cloth diapers, they didn't have any  confidence in me doing it. I had two friends who were betting on how long I would last using cloth (and by the way, I have beat both of those guesses!). It wasn't something that was common (or even done) among anyone I knew except one dear friend I met online on a due date club who used cloth. She sparked my interest and without the … [Read more...]

AppleCheeks are Canadian made pocket cloth diapers. Besides the 2-size envelope cover and insert that we reviewed they also make swim diapers and plush wipes! I have used an AppleCheeks diaper with LA and I was thrilled when I found out I was going to be able to add one to our newborn stash! Because AppleCheeks diapers come in two sizes I knew the one we have for LA would not fit Baby Addy for some time! AppleCheeks diapers have an outer made of … [Read more...]

Save Money and Time with Coupons and a Coupon App on Facebook from Answers.com!

app-screenshot

Saving money is something that I have always tried hard to do. Coupons are one way that I have been able to do this. I used to clip coupons from the newspaper weekly and get online and print coupons before shopping trips. That can be rather time consuming and since I have two little ones under the age of two I don't have the time to do this as often. I clip coupons occasionally but I never print them from online any more. I've also started doing … [Read more...]

Welcoming Baby: What Parents and Loved Ones Need to Know about RSV

GMsignature126

Having just had a baby a bit over 5 weeks ago we are very aware of germs and preventing sickness in our home. We were concerned first because our baby girl was born in the winter and we knew it would be flu season when she arrived. Our 20-month old goes to daycare when we are at work and he has asthma so when he gets sick, he really gets it. He seemed to be sick most of the winter and we were really concerned that he would be sick and not able to … [Read more...]

Bring on Breakfast ~ Incredibly Easy with Earth’s Best!

GMsignature128

Since I've been home for the past five weeks on maternity leave I've been challenged to keep LA entertained with great foods he will eat. If you knew our little guy, you would know that this is not an easy task! He is a VERY picky eater and in fact has lost a bit of weight lately because he will not eat just anything. He will go without before he eats something that HE doesn't want at that moment. It really is challenging to make sure he gets the … [Read more...]

Knapp Sack Review & GIVEAWAY!

IMG_3474

As I mentioned before, when LA was born it was the middle of a hot summer and we never really swaddled him. With Baby Addy it's 100% different. She seems to really like being swaddled and we have done it since day one. We don't swaddle her with her arms in, but arms down she is wrapped up! When I was pregnant I was looking online for some eco-friendly baby products to use for Addy and I came across this amazing company called Knapp Sacks. Knapp … [Read more...]

An Update on Us!

Wow, I sure didn't realize how busy things would be after Baby Addy's arrival! I can't believe that as of Monday she will be 5 weeks old already. I haven't really posted any status on her since her birth story. Having two little ones is a huge blessing but it is a lot of work! :) The above picture was taken when she was about 3 1/2 weeks old but I love it! :) Baby Addy is doing great! She's now about 9 1/2 pounds and is 22" long. She's nursing … [Read more...]
