Green Your Valentine’s Day

Believe it or not, Valentine’s Day is one of the easiest holidays to make green despite it’s popularity with red! It doesn’t cost a thing to let someone know that you love them! You don’t have to waste gas polluting the earth and driving all around looking for the perfect gift. You don’t have to buy items that may end up in the landfill shortly after the holiday. Here are a few ideas that can help make your Valentine’s Day green:

  • You can write a poem or a song and give someone the gift of your feelings on paper. That means so much more than a material item to most people!
  • You can also give gifts like massage, a pedicure or hair appointments to pamper the one you love, while supporting your local economy!
  • Bake your special someone’s favorite treat: cookies, cakes, pies, etc! Put your heart into baking – and make it a heart shape to add some fun!
  • Make a candlelight dinner full of your significant other’s favorite dishes! Nothing says “I love you” like home cooking!
  • Make a book of coupons good for bubble baths, massages, a night out, candlelight dinner, cleaning the house, whatever you know your significant other will appreciate!
If you do like going the material gift route there are organic flowers (grown without the use of pesticides that harm our planet) and organic chocolates and candles scented with essential oils for traditional Valentine’s Day gifts! There are also organic cotton and bamboo lingerie you ladies can ask for from your special someone or you can get organic cotton/bamboo boxers for that special man!
What about you? How do you plan on greening your Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine's Day!
