Finally Home to Family ~ Romance Ideas for Restarting that Spark!

Returning home, for many service men and women, is the happiest day of their lives!  We've all seen the happy reunions of families during the holidays, but what happens after the reunion is over?  For many men and women it’s the beginning of a new struggle, the struggle to put their families back together again. It’s not easy.  Military divorces have increased 42% since 2001, and that number is sure to increase with the number of service men and … [Read more...]

Milk-Bone Training Treats Shop #ILoveMyk9 #CBias

I don't really get to include our dog much in my blog posts/reviews so I was thrilled to do this Milk-Bone® training treats shop, which would be all about our little Yorkie! Our mission was to shop our local Walmart for three types of dog treats: Milk-Bone®, Lean Pup-Peroni and Milo's Kitchen treats that we would then use to train our dog. Be sure to check out our Google+ photo story of our Milk-Bone Training Treats Shopping trip. Our plan was to … [Read more...]

Green Tip Tuesday ~ Winterizing Your Windows and Saving Energy

The weather here in Michigan has been pretty mild. In fact, we haven't had one major snowfall yet. All we have seen is a dusting of snow barely covering the ground. That is extremely rare for us to make it to January and be able to say that. I do know that the cold weather will be arriving soon enough though and I want to make sure we are ready, we are able to stay warm and save energy at the same time.An important thing to check in your home in … [Read more...]

Brave Woman ~ Taking the Pledge #CBias #BraveWoman

Did you know that one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime? That is 25% of women! That is a terrifying number that definitely needs to be reduced. If you remember, I wrote not long ago about this amazing Brave Woman campaign where I told you about my sister and a bit of her domestic abuse situation. My sister is one reason I am taking the Brave Woman pledge and I encourage you to do the same! The more awareness we get … [Read more...]

What’s On My Mind Monday

Ok, so my hospital trip made me realize just how NOT ready I am for baby Addy. Now I realize how much I have to get done and in a short amount of time. I am starting to stress a bit because not only are things not done, but I have no energy to get things done right away. How is that? Not fair!!! LOL Sometimes I wish someone would just come over and clean my house and get everything done and I could just sit on the couch and relax. Don't we all … [Read more...]

A Day in the Hospital

So yesterday, I spent the day in the hospital. It wasn't exactly (or at all) how I wanted to spend my Saturday. Let's back up a few days. Thursday morning I woke up at 9:45 and LA was still asleep. That should have told me something was wrong because he NEVER sleeps that late. I went in to check on him and he had thrown up all over his crib. It was yuck-city in there and to make it even worse, he was sleeping in it. I had the monitor on and I … [Read more...]

Pregnancy Cravings Over the Years

So I was just thinking today about the differences in cravings with my three pregnancies. I wouldn't even consider them CRAVINGS, as I didn't feel I had to have these things or I was going to hurt someone. I just wanted these things...and often! With my oldest son here are the things I wanted....strawberries dipped in sugar orange sherbetpork chow meinWith my 17 month old (LA) these are the things I wanted...ice cream. I HAD to have ice cream … [Read more...]

Decorating Made Fun with My Wonderful Walls

Decorating a child's room can be fun, but at the same time can be challenging. We are in the process of changing our guest bedroom into a "big boy" room for our 17 month old son in preparation for our new baby arriving in February. We have had the plan to make this change this month because we don't want to wait until baby Addy arrives to take him out of the room he has been used to. Our first thought about this change was, "how on earth are we … [Read more...]

What’s On My Mind Monday – Six Weeks Left!

Well as of this past weekend all that has been on my mind is the arrival of our baby Addy. I have this rather persistent feeling that she is going to arrive early. I am just praying that it's not too early. I still have about 3 1/2 weeks to go until she is considered "full term" although I will only be 37 weeks at that time. I have started nesting  (just need more energy to follow through with all of it!). I cleaned our bedroom from top to bottom … [Read more...]

#Breastfeeding in Public – Agree or Not?

This week in the debate with the Danielles they are discussing breastfeeding in public. Some people are for it, some people are against it. With the recent Target nurse in and the Tweet by a Nascar driver, this is a hot topic. I haven't linked up with the Danielles before in their debates, however, I have very strong feeling on this topic and found myself having a bit of time so I wanted to write about it. So let's see...my opinion on … [Read more...]
