Elmer’s and the Boys & Girls Club of America Partnership Project #GlueNGlitter #CBias

This week I had the incredibly fun opportunity of putting together a craft project for Elmer’s Glue N’ Glitter in partnership with The Boys and Girls Club of America. Elmer’s is asking us all to get involved in helping the Boys & Girls Club of America with our creativity! Mama on a Green Mission is proud to be a part of this event to create a project for great futures and would love to see you all get involved! 🙂 Let your creativity shine in a project for school or work, an inspirational craft project, memory keeping board, vision board or a project displaying how BGCA helps to create bright futures! Purchase your Elmer’s tri-fold board at your local Walmart (check out our Walmart shopping trip) and submit your project by December 12, 2011. Elmer’s will select finalists beginning December 14, 2011 and the public can then vote. The Boys & Girls Club will receive $1 for each and every vote, up to $50,000 so make sure you vote when it opens! And what does the winning board get? The BGCA closest to the Walmart location that the board was purchased at will get a $5,000 Walmart gift card AND a $1,000 in Elmer’s products! Let’s help support a great organization this holiday season!

First, check out our Google+ Story of our shopping trip to Walmart for our Elmer’s Tri-Fold Display Board!

And then check out our project details below, which my husband and I had lots of fun doing!

Here are the supplies we needed:

First, we decided on a holiday theme. We wanted to spread the holiday spirit and give a message that people can take those holiday spirited actions and turn them into great actions lasting throughout the year. As a green blogger, I also wanted to incorporate ways to be green, which makes a better world for us all. We found the appropriate images online and cut them out (which my husband is wonderful at doing, he’s used to creating decorated boards at school!).
Some did need to be colored with the color pencils, which I got out of too because my husband is somewhat of a perfectionist and when I asked if he needed help he looked at me and said “can you color?”  LOL  So I let him do all of the coloring! HAHA! We printed some words that we wanted to use and cut them out as well and glued them to a construction paper background.
Next, we added the decorative boarder to the Elmer’s Tri-Fold Display Board on all four sides.
We started getting our cut-outs in place to see where they looked best and the board really started coming together! We stapled some of the items and glued other items to the board.
And finally, we had our finished Elmer’s Display Board with our message of spreading goodness throughout the year! I was pretty pleased with the turnout – if we make the finals, you’ll have to vote for us!! 🙂

Oh, an since you can’t really see the true message in the center, here’s a close up!

We had an amazing time doing this project and we thank Elmer’s for their partnership with The Boys & Girls Club of America – we know they do some fabulous things in the lives of our young!
