Not only do they make AMAZING diapers at The Little Bee Company, they also DONATE a diaper to an orphan in need with the sale of EVERY diaper! Just this month, they did a diaper drop to an orphanage in Uganda where the donations totaled 250 cloth diapers! Besides the orphanage in Africa, The Little Bee Co. also works with orphanages in Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras and Cambodia. Now this is a WONDERFUL company that gives back in an amazing way! Their mission is wonderful, it’s simply ” to bee changed and change the world”.
The Little Bee Co diapers are come nine GREAT colors and I LOVE the names of the colors (each with a story). We chose the American Meadow diaper to review. I love this green color – it’s gorgeous! This diaper is a one-size pocket diaper and comes with two microfiber inserts that you can snap together for maximum absorbency! I love that feature. These are seriously some of the SOFTEST inserts we have. The inner liner is 100% all natural bamboo fleece. When I was searching for these inserts to grab out of the dryer the other day I was simply feeling the inserts and I knew if I had the right one or not! Yes, they are THAT soft. This is part of the reason I fell in love!
As you can see, this is a snap diaper, not my favorite closure, but we survived it! It wasn’t so bad because of my love for the rest of the diaper! The snaps will cross over for those tiny babies, which we obviously didn’t need for our average sized baby. This picture shows LA wearing the diaper with both inserts, which does make it bulky, but it works GREAT for overnight. Yes, I temporarily got over my fear of nighttime diapering and tried this and it worked well! No leaks! It also works great with one insert during daytime playtime and nap time. Thumbs up for all three scenarios!
You can see from the side view that this is a major fluffy bottom! This is with both inserts again and it is a bulky fit when both inserts are in. You can also see the leg fit is perfect with this diaper. There are no open areas for leaks to escape.
This wasn’t a daddy friendly diaper in our house but that’s only because daddy won’t use snaps. Maybe some day he’ll get over that but for now…not a chance! It was super easy to clean as well. We simply rinsed it prior to putting it in the laundry pail and when laundry day came we put it in the washer. I did remove the inserts prior to washing and I chose not to dry the cover in the dryer. It has worked great for us.
And we can’t leave out the bum shot! I LOVE that this company stands for making changes and donates diapers for each diaper sold and the back of this diaper reminds you each time you see it to “Bee Changed”! I love it!
In conclusion, there was only ONE thing that I would change about this diaper and that is to make it available in hook & look closure. Oh, and to be available in prints! This fit our average sized baby wonederfully! The legs fit great, the waist and we had no leaks at all. The function of this diaper was amazing and the softness next to baby’s skin – out. of. this. world. We LOVE this diaper and can’t wait to try it with the bamboo inserts! I haven’t bought a new diaper in some time, but this is one that I will be buying.
Buy Them: Don’t forget that this amazing company donates a diaper to an orphan for each diaper purchased! Go to their site to make your purchase and fall in love just as I did! They will be closed until Sept 24, however, be sure to go back that day to order!
