Cool Wazoo 5-in-1 Cover Review

The Cool Wazoo was created out of need by a mother. I have to say that some of the most amazing products that I have reviewed were created my mothers who needed something specific. The founder and president, Ginelle Mills, spent two years creating the Cool Wazoo after her baby daughter was burned on a scorching hot swing. The Cool Wazoo features something no other cover on the market features and that’s a material on the inside that was created specifically to reflect heat back to it’s source! That seriously has to be one of my absolute favorite features about this. It’s great not having to worry about something burning my baby because I know the Cool Wazoo will protect him!

So are you wondering how you can possibly use one product in five different ways? The Cool Wazoo was designed to not only be a swing cover, but it is a shopping cart cover, a restaurant high chair cover, a car seat cover and a diaper changing station! Isn’t that AMAZING!? Yes, all of these wonderful, necessary things in ONE item!

We used this item in four out of those five ways and I have to say this is one item that we DO NOT leave home without. We used it as a changing pad and it works so much better than the small rectangular shaped ones that come in most diaper bags. You can see from the above picture that if you need to use this outside (at the park or what have you) you can easily put your knees on the bottom part and baby on the top part so you don’t get wet or dirty either! LA has much more room on the Cool Wazoo and I didn’t feel like he was going to move a bit and be off of the pad onto who knows what kind of germs – I knew he had plenty of room!

We also used this as a swing cover. With the 90+ degree temperatures we’ve had this summer it was wonderful knowing that when I put LA in the swing at the park, not only did I not have to worry about what kind of germs might be on the swing, but I didn’t have to worry about the swing being too hot or about my teething little boy biting on the germ filled swing! We had numerous relaxing and enjoyable trips to the park because of the Cool Wazoo! (I will be posting a swing picture on an upcoming Wordless Wednesday so you can see how great it works with swings too!)

Another way in which we used the Cool Wazoo was for a restaurant high chair cover. You know how many times the hostess brings the high chair right after it’s been wiped clean and the chair still appears to be wet? With the Cool Wazoo you don’t have to worry about this either! The Cool Wazoo is not only heat resistant, but it is also water resistant so if there happens to be water on the high chair it will not soak through to your little one! AMAZING! Have I mentioned I love this product? It fits over every restaurant high chair that we tried and there were at least 8-10 different places we used this at while reviewing it. Most of them had similar high chairs, however, some were different sizes and a few places had different high chairs and we still had success. We had no problems with the fit in any of the chairs. It was easy to put in the chair and was a great relief knowing we were keeping those nasty germs away from our baby. The ONLY possible problem (and it wasn’t even a huge deal to be a real problem) with  the high chair cover aspect was that we did encounter a bit of a challenge with the cover slipping down inside of the chair and we would have to pull it back up and over the edges, however, this happened mostly when LA was restless and moving way more than he should have been. If I could suggest one thing it would be to see about making the inside not only heat and water resistant, but have something to where the cover will easily stick to the chair. I know, it’s an amazing product, how dare I ask for more?

Finally, we used this a a cart cover in the store. We used it many a times as a cart cover and I was SO happy to have this! LA tends to put his hands on either the front or the back of the seat he sits in while in the cart. Many times he will turn around so he can see where we are going and this cover does cover that back piece of the cart so he’s not getting his hands dirty or touching any kind of germs from there. He does occasionally touch the sides of the cart (as he was in this picture) and the cover does not reach the sides of the cart. That would be the only item on my wish list for the cart cover would be to see if it could be extended in any way to make sure the sides are covered as well. Some carts we used were smaller and that allowed the cover to actually not only cover the parts of the cart that LA was touching, but it also allowed for the handle I used to push the cart to be covered! I love that! Remember the heat and water resistant features? Great for a cart too, especially if the store is packed and you have to grab a cart from the cart corral outside…if it has been hot the cart may be hot or if it’s been raining, the cart may be wet! Fabulous features!!! LOVE IT!

Lastly, this can be used as a car seat cover. We did not need to use it this way as of yet, however, I can truly appreciate that it has this option. There are many times in the summer heat that a car seat can get extremely hot and what a great relief to know that the Cool Wazoo’s heat resistant inside will be that layer between baby and that hot seat! Another great reason to have this in the car? You know it will happen, baby will get sick in his/her car seat and this would be a great cover to put between the messy seat and baby until you get home.

The 5-in-1 cover is VERY easy to clean. We simply put it in the washer on the delicate cycle and dried it on low heat and it looks like new! I also love that the back is easy to wipe off just in case something happens to be in the cart or on the swing and you need to just wipe one side clean. SUPER EASY! Also want to mention that there are spaces for the seat/safety belts to be put through the Cool Wazoo so you can be sure to keep baby safe while using this as well!

After reading all of these great features, I know you want your own, don’t you? They just recently added a few new patterns to their lineup and I am in love with the San Francisco pattern! We may just have to splurge and get a second one…after all, the new baby coming in February will need one too! This is absolutely on my mama must-haves list and is the perfect, unique baby shower gift!!!
