We live in Michigan so playing outside is limited to the season we are in unfortunately. We make it outside though in at least three of our seasons, if not all four! We absolutely LOVE to do outside activities or just be outside with the kids! When we get together with family my husband and I are always outside doing something with our kids, and our nieces and nephews. We believe that outside activity is a huge part of a child’s life so we try to encourage it as much as possible. There are so many things to explore outside! Just in case you need more reason, Clorox 2 is is challenging you to play outside with your kids! You can handle that challenge, right? Take the pledge here: http://clorox2play2day.com,! Oh, AND you can win a trip just by taking the pledge!
We do so many activities outside. This summer we found out that our little guy is a natural water baby and LOVES to swim (as do I!). We take our dog for a walk almost everyday (when the weather allows) and we are regular visitors to our local park, where we allow our little guy to explore and discover all kinds of new things! We have many, many lakes around where we live and we also love going to the beach or to a state park to take walks or ride our bikes. We seriously love outside play and activites! If we could live in a place that it is 70 degrees year round, I would so be there just for the outside activity!
Now that fall is arriving (tomorrow already – can you believe it??) we are looking forward to another outside favorite and that would be visiting the apple orchard. Here in Michigan there are many, many apple orchards and they make it so fun for the kids. It’s not only a place to go to get apple cider and AMAZING donuts, they have hay rides, horse rides, walking paths, pumpkin decorating contests and more, depending on which orchard you go to! It really is a fun fall day outside for the family! We can’t wait to go! As you know, my husband is a teacher and the orchard is one place that he loves taking his students to for one of their first field trips of the year, which gets all of them outside to play as well!
Playing outside allows so much discovery and fun that just can’t be found inside. It is really important to our family and we truly enjoy it! What kinds of things do you love to do outside? Be sure to take the Clorox 2 Challenge (here’s the link one more time in case you need it - http://clorox2play2day.com,) and encourage your family to play outside. Dedicate a certain amount of hours each week to outside play and stick to it! Most of all, HAVE FUN with your kids! It’s priceless!
